she cried....
a piercing scream in the gloom of death....
where shadows were born and ghostly dreams strut around
she cried.....
a keening wail......in the quiet still
the reaper's blanket shrouded the day
the sun smouldering black, its ashes pale
she cried.....
a note, long and full of regret
calving through the embrace of life
quicksilver death, his hands were cold
he came n went without a word
she cried.....
for the baby she lost, dreams unborn
for the wilted rose, just newly bloomed
a mother's heart, who can fathom?
silence all.......... as time stands still
