Poem: MIDNIGHT ENCOUNTER
A beautiful evening,
calm and breathless with adoration,
the rumbling clouds draped over the earth,
dark arms stretched upon light and stole its breath,
choked the sun's flare retired,
and nature now adorned in nightie attire.
Creeping creatures creaks stirred sinister silence,
my eyes jerked with hot tears,
and ears sterned to place voices from distance,
this now which gathered the day to bed for my peers.
Startled by stroke of midnight the cuckoo cried foul,
and from afar i heard the evil owl hoot and howl,
I stared as tired lamp gloss grew freckles and brown,
"papa, must I play this midnight encounter to reveal the break of dawn?"
